Astures and Romanos

Astorga is a municipality in the central zone of León. In 1981 was celebrated the first roman circus of Astorga, it's called "Astures and Romanos" and it's celebrated every year the first weekend of July. It commemorates the battle of Clavijo that faced Christians against Muslims.
Firstly on the ground of the place San Roque and later in the bullring, races of bunks or quadrigae are celebrated. Next to that appointment, there's a gastronomic days with typical food of the zone, dinners of the different Roman legions in some parts of the city or the Roman market. Acts that have been envolving or opening the way to other new activities, like the recreation of the historical fact by the inhabitants of the city
